The thrown bodies of each piece are kept simple so that the focus will be on the details; such as, the lid, handle and feet that I add to the body. Porcelain is ideal for my pieces because the beauty of the white clay body provides a perfect canvas for the splashes of colour on the handles and feet. Porcelain also carries with it innate attributes, such as, delicacy, and preciousness. I believe these characteristics not only compliment my work, but enhance the aesthetic that I am trying to achieve. The personality of the piece is expressed on the foot, handle and lid; these parts can sometimes be neglected or forgotten but I like to accentuate them.
